Having good SEO does bring in traffic, but if that traffic doesn't convert when it shows up, or is confused by the content on the page, than it will not matter how much traffic is sent to a site. I've got sites that generate a lot of traffic, but doesn't translate into any clicks or revenue, and I've got others sites that don't see hardly any traffic, but they make money because the traffic does what I expect them to do. Having a lot of traffic is not the key to SEO, but rather good traffic is the main goal of good SEO. SEO is important, but not to sacrifice from the viewer experience.
